to the Imperial and Allied Forces in Great Britain , followed by 'THE ARMCHAIR TRAVELLER'
Gramosaic, including the recorded voice of Joseph Macleod. Presented by Frederick Piffard
The armchair traveller ' device, whether it is used in connection with poetry, prose, music, or travel itself, is a well-tried one. Frederick Piffard , however, in these programmes of his, has set out to do something different. He does not take the conventional journey round the world with records, but concentrates instead on some particular theme—hair, for example, hands, or eyes-and collects various songs, music and poems about that theme. Joseph Macleod speaks the verses in the programme.
