The Friday Play: The National Theatre of Brent's Messiah

on BBC Radio 4 FM

The National Theatre of Brent celebrates the coming Christmas season with its unique version of the nativity story - Messiah - performed in its entirety by Desmond Olivier Dingle and his entire company - Raymond Box. Including, probably for the first time on any wireless station in the world, the actual birth of a baby by two men. It is the company's view that nothing as dramatic, as moving, and as historically accurate has virtually ever been done on radio before. Written by Patrick Barlow with additional material by John Ramm and Martin Duncan.
