The European Cup Final The final day's competition in the team Championship of Europe.
Each of the eight countries involved is allowed one athlete per event and the result is decided on a points basis.
The winning nation and the runner-up-expected to be USSR and GDR -will qualify by right to compete in the World Cup in Dusseldorf next month, while for the rest of the athletes the big prize is the chance to be picked for the Europe Select team in that competition.
Today's events include the 5,000m, the Men's 800m and the Women's 1500m, in which MARY STEWART , indoor world record-holder at this distance, competes for Great Britain. Commentators RON PICKERING
