Tomorrow's World

on BBC One London

with Judith Hann, Peter Macann, Maggie Philbin and Howard Stableford
In a special edition, Tomorrow's World examines the fantastic technology of the project known as Star Wars.
It takes 25 minutes for a nuclear missile to travel from Russia to the USA. If hundreds were launched at 8.0 tonight, could a combination of particle beams, rail guns, lasers, space mirrors and super computers destroy them in flight before this programme ends?
Will Star Wars, as President Reagan claims, make the nuclear missile obsolete?
