An enigmatic group characterised by ' manic vocals' and aggression Family was born in Leicester in 1966 from the amalgamation of two local groups. More than 90 per cent of the group's output came from the minds of the Chapman/ Whitney composing team. Family disbanded in 1973 after a highly successful British farewell tour.
