'The Printed Word'
A Discussion between Mr. EDWARD HALLIDAY and Mr. FRANCIS MEYNELL
Mr. Edward Halliday, continuing his enquiry of experts for the principles of design on behalf of listeners, questions Mr. Francis Meynell, member of a famous family of poets and publishers, on the design of the printed word. The discussion will range over all forms of printed matter with which the modern eye has to contend-newspapers, magazines, advertisements, banknotes and 'bus tickets, as well as books. Listeners to this series will find the fully illustrated pamphlet, 'Design in Modern Life' (B.B.C. Publications Dept., price 6d., 7d. post-free), a valuable auxiliary.
