The 1979 European Figure Skating Championships

on BBC One London

from
Zagreb featuring
The Ice Dance Championship
Last year the world of ice dancing was turned upside down with the defeat in the World Championships of the Soviet couple IRINA MOISEEVA and ANDREI MINENKOV by their compatriots NATALIA LINICHUK and GENNADI KARPONOSOV. Irina's classic beauty and expressive hand movements have made her a favourite with audiences around the world and they will have plenty of support as they attempt to reestablish themselves.
Britain has three couples, led by JAYNE TORVILL and CHRISTOPHER DEAN who are sure to improve on their ninth place in their European debut last year.
