VARIETY ORCHESTRA
Conducted by CHARLES SHADWELL
Presented by JOHN SHARMAN
Among the excellent acts on the air tonight, Bebe Daniels and Ben Lyon are making their farewell broadcast in ' Music-Hall ' before leaving for the States on a six weeks holiday next Wednesday.
Bebe pronounces her name Beebee, not Babe, though she began her career as a babe and was Harold Lloyd 's leading lady when she was thirteen. Some of her more recent hits were scored in Silver Dollar, The Honour of the Family, Dixiana, but the film for which she is world-famous is Rio Rita. She has made three British pictures : The Song You Gave me, The Southern Maid, and The Return of Carol Deane.
Ben Lyon has appeared opposite almost every important feminine star, including Bebe. He leapt into fame in Hell's Angels when the talkies came in. Ben has just made Confidential Lady with Jane Baxter at the Teddington studios.
