Sydney Lipton's Band has provided the dance music at Grosvenor House for the last nine years, but Sydney is now in the Royal Corps of Signals, and since May 5 Billy Mayerl and his Band have taken over. Thus one of the earliest of British jazz celebrities the former Savoy Havana pianist has returned to the business after an absence of sixteen years.
