Four films about the common experiences which highlight people's lives.
2: The Happiest Day?
Three couples launch themselves into an institution that seems more popular than ever, despite the growing divorce rate.
Les and Frances Higginbottom from Liverpool marrying on the dole, living with in-laws, prospects look bleak. June and Bill Griffiths tie the knot in style in Perthshire and start off with all the advantages that money can bring. Georgie and Tom Stirling are first cousins, and travelling show people. She has been married before but both are sure this time it's for ever.
