The Story of Andre Tchaikowsky
Ten years ago, the composer and pianist
Andre Tchaikowsky died at the age of 46 from cancer. In his will he left his own skull to the Royal Shakespeare Company to be used in productions of Hamlet. It was a typical gesture from a man who had lived an extraordinary life. David Owen Norris looks back on the life and career of this brilliant pianist and major composing talent, and reappraises his legacy. Producer Emma Kingsley (The first of three concerts featuring Andre Tchaikowsky next Thursday at 10.00pm)
