Sunday Night Clive

on BBC One London

The day of transmission may have changed from Saturday to Sunday but the Clive James style of humour and wit remains as dry as ever.
For the next ten weeks,
Clive James will be putting his own interpretation on world news events and talking to celebrities via satellite and in the studio.
And, of course, there'll be clips of some of the more bizarre items from foreign television.
Joining him in the studio for an "irresponsible discussion on currently enticing themes" is American actor Tom Hanks , star of Big, Sleepless in Seattle, and the newly-released Philadelphia (featured in tonight's Moving Pictures at
10.35pm on BBC2). Says James: "He's young, handsome, clever and infinitely desirable to women - but I'm not jealous."
Future guests include
Michael Palin , Joan Collins ,
Billy Connelly , Tony Curtis , Stephen Fry and Victoria Wood.
