Telling it like it is?
Twenty-five years ago, Chancellor of the Exchequer R. A. Butler came on television to give us stern warnings about the state of the economy etc. In those days at least the medium was still new, if not the message - for television, and in particular political broadcasting, was in its infancy.
Today's Chancellor appears on Jim'll Fix It-says 'party politicals are the lowest form of television ' and of course is still full of those stern warnings to us silly billies.
Tonight, Julian Pettifer looks at some of the changes that have occurred in both politics and broadicasting a quarter of a century later.
