White is traditionally the colour of purity, virginity, innocence.
In the 20th century, its
Potent, age-old symbolism has been hijacked by the advertisers to become a Powerful marketing tool. From washing powders to nappies, we've been told that while white is good, whiter-than-white is better. But are we aware of the cost of our Passion for white? Debbie finds out how the growth of whiteness from a symbol to an industry has had some devastating consequences for the environment.
