A. P. Herbert and Divorce Law Reform
Third in an occasional series about reformers who have revolutionised sexual morality. When A. P. Herbert , wit, song-writer, and dramatist, was elected an independent MP in 1935 he promised to reform the Divorce Laws through a private member's bill before Parliament was over. This is the storv of how, in spite of the clergy and his fellow mps and, all unwittingly, the King himself, 'A. PH.' triumphantly succeeded.
