A civilian condemned to death for partisan activities during the American Civil War has one last dream. This film, part of a trilogy, Au Coeur de la Vie, won the Tours Grand Prix in 1961, the Palme d'Or at Cannes in 1962, and an American Oscar in 1964, as being the best short film submitted by any country.
