BBC Proms 2004: Music of the Silk Road

on BBC Radio 3

Live from the Royal Albert Hall, London. The centrepiece of this season's East/West theme features Yo-Yo Ma's ensemble in a colourful programme that includes music and musicians from China, India, Persia, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. Tabla player Sandeep Das and Iranian spike-fiddler Kayhan Kalhor feature in their own compositions, and Chinese pipa virtuoso Wu Man performs traditional music. Presented by Tommy Pearson.
