The Wild Wood is where you find Dante and Winnie the Pooh. It's where Actaeon surprised Diana bathing naked with her nymphs; it's where you shelter from the storm; and where you're stalked by nameless terror. Its a place for monkish retreat and contemplation and a place where an amorous Sir John Falstaff can be found prancing around with antlers on his head. This week's programme explores this beguiling and bewildering space with the help of music by Wagner, Schubert. John Coltrane and Radiohead. The readers are Emma Fielding , who recently appeared in Tom Stoppard 's West End hit Rock 'n'Roll, and John Rowe who starred in Lynda La Plante's Trial and Retribution.
