While Isabel Fielding was at Virginia Lodge she met the carrier who had come to collect Angeline and by mistake directed him to pick up Mrs. Sandiman's goat. Mrs. Sandiman was very annoyed but Gwen and David arrived and explained the mistake. Saturday was Dr. and Mrs. Dale's wedding anniversary and the rest of the family congratulated them. Bob and Joe Bates spent the week-end at Virginia Lodge and watched cricket at the Oval. Mollie wanted to live at Marble Heath, near Geoff, but Mrs. Dale advised her against it. Philip Beel visited Sally at Gimlet Green, she offered to let her flat to him until the beginning of September.
