New series 1/3. Paul Gambaccini celebrates the work of singersongwriter Neil Diamond , whose polished contributions to pop include gems written for other artists - most notably I'm A Believer and A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You for the Monkees - and his own classic singles, which include
Solitary Man, Cherry, Cherry, Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon, Red Red Wine, Sweet Caroline (Good Times Never Seemed So Good), Holly Holy and Cracklin' Rosie.
Diamond's latest album, 12 Songs, has met with universal acclaim.
The series features an interview with Diamond, plus input from songwriters Alan and Marilyn Bergman , producers Rick Rubin , Peter Asher and Bob Gaudio , arranger Lee Holdridge , former Diamond manager
Fred Weintraub and many others.
