BBC Proms 2006

on BBC Radio 3

The Pittsburgh Symphony comes to the Proms with Charles Ives's early, romantically inclined kaleidoscope of American songs and melodies. And following his First Night success in 2003, celebrated young pianist Lang Lang returns with Chopin's lyrical concerto. The concert ends with the merry pranks of Strauss's heroic tone poem. Presented by Petroc Trelawny.
