The Curious Character of Britain: 2: The Royal Oakeley

on BBC One London

A series of travel films that goes somewhere different each week in search of the British - and gets involved with their feelings about the place they call home - somewhere on our Island.
The British are a complex people, with customs and dialects surprisingly different from those in the village or county next door. Because of the mixture - can anyone know the British?

A portrait of an institution that belongs to a town that was carved out of a mountain 750 feet above sea level. The fortunes of the Royal Oakeley and its town run parallel and at one time neither could have existed without the mountain. It is a different story now.
