Constable Country

on BBC Radio 4 FM

John Constable was born In East Bergholt in Suffolk. He left for
London when he was 23, and although he never again lived in the area, ' he stored within his artistic subconscious the essence of the valley (of the River Stour) which was to give him Inspiration for a lifetime '. Would he find the same inspiration today?
Donny MacLeod talks to Attlield Brooks , co-author of Constable and his
Country, whose family has been associated with the district since the painter's day.
