Presented by Dorothy Hogben with The Matineurs and The Tea Time Five at the pianos,
Dorothy Hogben and Cecil Woods
Arrangements by Dorothy Hogben
This is the seventh and last of the Matinee programmes whicji Dorothy Hogben has been presenting. Since they started listeners have been treated on each occasion to a gay mélange of musical items in which light and syncopated music have been predominant. Most of the Matineurs (male-voice singers) and Matinettes (women singers) who have been appearing in alternate programmes, are young people fairly new to the microphone, and Dorothy Hogben considers the two combinations more than ordinarily successful.
Dorothy Hogben herself has been associated with broadcasting almost since it began. She was a deputy accompanist in the Savoy Hill days, and, in her own words, has broadcast in almost every type of musical programme, from Ridgeway Parades to Foundations of Music.
