Without aid and support very many prisoners on discharge would be thrown helpless on the world, unable to secure the means of leading a respectable life. Discharged Prisoners' Aid Societies are in active operation throughout the country, and last year assisted more than 21,000 discharged prisoners. Funds are urgently needed to enablo the Societies to cany on their important work.
