When an elderly spinster with an avid taste for detective stories sees a woman being strangled in a passing train, she decides to investigate for herself.
In tonight's film tribute to Margaret Rutherford, the celebrated British comedy actress creates for the screen one of Agatha Christie's most famous creations - the eccentric spinster-sleuth Miss Marple.
