Appeal on behalf of Cecil Houses (Inc.) by the General Manager and Secretary, Mrs. E. Gordon Phillips
Contributions will be gratefully acknowledged and should be addressed to Mrs. Gordon Phillips, Cecil Houses, [address removed]
Cecil Houses Inc., founded in 1926 by Mrs. Cecil Chesterton ., maintains three lodging houses for homeless women and a residential club for business girls in London. Once the initial cost of the building has been raised by public subscription, each enterprise becomes self-supporting. A residential club in Wedlake Street, Kensington, was opened in February, 1953, for seventy-two aged women pensioners from all over Britain.
Funds are urgently needed to clear the balance of the building debt, also to provide a special annexe for residents who require nursing care.
