In 1964, missionary nurse Margaret Hayes was caught up in the brutal Simba rebellion which swept across the north-east provinces of the recently independent Republic of Zaire. She was the only survivor at her mission station - the rest were slaughtered. Taken prisoner by the Simbas, she was dragged through the jungle month after month: her life. as a hostage. always balanced on a knife-edge.
