Viewers who have sympathised as Aeroflot flight supervisor Jeremy Spake endures near-daily disasters in previous series of the soap-doc will be delighted to hear that he's back, stoical as ever. Life at Heathrow is one long discovery - human nature astounds you some days, he says.
This third series looks set to confirm his view. There's a clutch of unlikely incidents in this opening instalment and some new faces. Armed policewoman Alison is as cool as you would hope for in someone whose business is dealing with incidents involving weapons or explosives. Air traffic controller Phil is another whose work is full of stress, as he tries to find a slot for the Prime Minister's plane.
It's almost light relief, then, to follow animal welfare officer Stuart King intercepting two canaries brought from Japan in hand luggage. You can read Jeremy Spake's Questionnaire on page 23.
