Private Passions

on BBC Radio 3

Michael Berkeley's guest today is Christopher Frayling, rector of the Royal College of Art in London, where he is also professor of cultural studies. Among his many interests is the spaghetti western and he has just published a book on the film director Sergio Leone. His musical choices include excerpts from operas by Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Gluck and Mozart, part of Shostakovich's Symphony No 7 (Leningrad), The Ballad of Mack the Knife from Kurt Weill's Threepenny Opera, and music by Ennio Morricone for Leone's film For a Few Dollars More.
