Last Monday was J-enny's birthday, so Sally decided to drive her down to Sandbourne to see Bob. Bob was out and while they were waiting for him they met Ashley Weston , the actor, with whom Bob shared a sitting-room at Mrs. McMorran's. Jenny and Ashley seemed to get on very well. Bob invited Mrs. Dale to Sandbourne for the night and got two tickets for Ashley's play. While Mrs. Dale was at Mrs. McMorran's. Jenny arrived, having arranged with Ashley to see the play that night. Mrs. Morgan and Thompkins had a ' coldness ' because he insisted on calling his twins Cherry and Candy. Mrs. Freeman and Miss Simmonds, trying to make ' pin money,' got an .order for sixty little sewing cases in one week. They began to work furiously when Miss Simmonds, hurrying upstairs, tripped over Captain and sprained her wrist.
