Assigned to help the French police smash a heroin gang operating in Marseilles, Popeye ' Doyle finds that his reputation as a tough New Yorker has preceded him. Gradually he earns the respect of the local police as he sets about tracking down his old adversary - Charnier. This exciting sequel to The French Connection was largely shot on location and contains a memorable climax in the chase around the harbour at Marseilles.
