WALTER HEARD (flute)
This Male Voice Choir is one of several combinations of high repute in the Nottinghamshire coalfield. Most of the members are miners. Established thirty years ago, the choir has won 119 prizes, including 54 cups and shields. Walter Heard was at one time the flautist with the Midland Studio Orchestra. He appeared as a soloist in the first Birmingham broadcast in November, 1922.
