In honour of Sir Winston Churchill 's 90th birthday on November 30, the BBC commissioned an adaptation for radio of his only novel, written in 1897 when he was a young officer in the 4th Hussars in India. The story is one of romantic and political intrigue set against the background of revolution in the imaginary Mediterranean state of Laurania.
