Jazz on 3

on BBC Radio 3

Multi-instrumentalist Gary Husband made his name as a drummer both in pop (Level 42) and in jazz (Allan Holdsworth and Geoff Keezer ).
Following a four-year stint playing keyboards with drummer Billy Cobham , Gary Husband has dedicated his future to the piano and formed an impressive trio with Clark Tracey on drums and Mick Hutton on bass to play a set of originals and standards. The New Gary Husband
Trio were recorded at the 606 club in London last November as part of the London Jazz Festival. And what is it about Sweden and jazz? In the sixties, a stream of American jazz musicians including Cecil Tayler and Albert Ayler made their living there, and Don Cherry made the country his home. Stuart Nicholson uncovers the source of this attraction with Sweden.
