Sonja Nerdrum tells Norwegian Folk Tales
'The Student Factory' is what Peter Chisten Asbjornsen and Jorgen Moe called their school near Oslo, and they had to work very hard there. But in any spare time the two boys went off on long country walks and as they went along they swopped stories of trolls, brave knights and princesses.
Years later, in 1845, their first collection of Norwegian Folk Tales was published and the stories are still great favourites of children in Norway. This week Sonja Nerdrum will be telling five of them.
