on BBC One London

by Alan Plater

The midnight visitors to the Pentland Grange Hotel do not come laden with gifts, nor do they bring tidings of joy. Their unwelcome call brings consternation and dismay to many of the guests. One of these is the Lord Lieutenant of the County whose influence reaches as far as Wyvern where Watt is on standby duty. By the early hours of the morning Watt is installed in the luxury country hotel... but not as a guest.
