This is the first of three programmes devised by Susi Jeans and Thurston Dart. The second programme, on February 17, will consist of duets for harpsichord and organ; and the third, on February 24, of duets for two clavichords.

The manuscript of the preludes and fugues by Handel in tonight's programme was found in a warehouse in Magdeburg during the war.
