by , DOROTHY PARSONS
(From Glasgow)
DOROTHY PARSONS , well known to concert-goers in Glasgow and the West of Scotland as solo pianist and accompanist, had already embarked on her self-chosen musical career at an age when mounting the piano stool was still for her a matter of some physical difficulty. True, she had dissembled her affections somewhat, had flirted with the sister muse of poetry, and by the age of nine had seen her verses printed in the Glasgow Herald and other papers. But music was for her the siren call, and her first public appearance as solo pianist was when she was eight years old.
