Remembrance of Things Past Murray Perahia remembers the running order of a Bach keyboard suite by using the acronym ACSOG - allemande, courante, sarabande, other and gigue. The 18th-century dance styles were a potent source of inspiration for the keyboard music of the period, but as Piers Lane explains, later composers found inspiration in them too. Music includes:
