The Lord Mayor's Show

on National Programme Daventry

View in Radio Times

From 12.0-1.0 there will be a programme of dance music on gramophone records, which will be interrupted for a commentary on the Lord Mayor's Procession by Stewart MacPherson from the Mansion House.

From a position high up on the roof of the Mansion House, the Lord Mayor's home, Stewart MacPherson will give listeners his impressions of the pomp and panoply below as London's greatest free show sets out on its journey to the Law Courts. The Londoner is well accustomed to the civic splendour of the Show, but how will it strike the eyes of a Canadian seeing it for the first time?

Stewart MacPherson is, of course, that Canadian, and listeners who know his commentaries may expect some lively reactions.
