' The League of Mercy ' was founded in 1&99 by H.M. King Edward VII for the support of voluntary hospitals. It is organized into one hundred and forty-two branches for the collection of contributions to the King's Fund, which are applied within the area collected. Mr. George Grossmith is the President, and Lady Tree the Lady President of the Westminster Branch of the League.
