Talkabout

on BBC Radio 1 England

Adrian Love chairs Radio 1's open forum - an opportunity for schools and clubs to choose a subject, provide a panel and pick the programme's music. Add a couple of invited 'experts' and some abrasive comments by the chairman, and the result is an hour's uninhibited argument.
This week: 'Does greed breed?' asks a Methodist youth club from Surbiton. More people in Britain today own consumer goods than at any time in past history, yet wage demands grow higher every day as do calls for greater and greater productivity. Talkabout poses the question: 'What makes Britain such a greedy society, and how do we learn to look beyond our noses to the needs of the Third World.'
