Hilary Finch explores BBC archive recordings of Russian mezzo Galina Vishnevskaya who, like her husband
Mstislav Rostropovich , was in the 1970s stripped of her citizenship and spent many years in exile. With songs by Musorgsky and Tchaikovsky, including a 1965 studio recording with Rostropovich at the piano.
