Screen One: A Question of Attribution

on BBC One London

James Fox as Sir Anthony Blunt, Surveyor of the Queen's Pictures and the "fourth man" in the Cambridge spy ring, and Prunella Scales as the Queen star in this new BBC film, directed by John Schlesinger, of Alan Bennett 's National Theatre hit.
It is a witty examination of the thesis that appearances can be deceptive. Blunt leads a double-life - interrogations by MI5 interspersed with visits to the Palace where, on one memorable occasion, he is surprised by Her Majesty.
Sadly it was to prove the last work of producer Innes Lloyd, who died in August and had been responsible for many of Bennett's TV productions.
