In the first of two programmes Berthold Goldschmidt , who worked with Kleiber in Berlin during the 1920s, talks about Kleiber's qualities as a conductor and musician and plays records made at this time with the BERLIN PHILHARMONIC and the BERLIN STATE OPERA ORCHESTRAS. Included are Suppers Light Cavalry Overture, an excerpt from Stravinsky's The Firebird, Berlioz's Roman Carnival and Schoenberg's orchestration of Bach's Prelude in E flat (bwv 552)
