Belle Vue Mammoth Circus
A broadcast from King's Hall,
Belle Vue, Manchester
Equestrian director, George Lockhart
The programme arranged by George Lockhart and Victor Smythe with interludes from the studio by The Nelson (Late Old) Band
Conductor, C. Smith
The big circus at Belle Vue, Manchester, is always one of the main attractions of the North's New Year entertainment season, for the event brings more than a dozen acts of a high standard. Many of them are of international repute. There is attraction for young and old in the wonderful horses and wild animals, the clowns, and the sensational acrobats, and all the. rest of the romance and thrills to be found under ' the Big Top '.
In this broadcast listeners will hear some of the acts and will hear descriptions of them. As usual, the popular George Lockhart , genial equestrian director, will contribute to the commentaries and the interviews. He has known the circus world all his life and he seems to be just as good at telling the unseen listener what is happening as he is at directing the activities in the Ring. Black-pool, as well as Manchester, knows him well ; for years he has been the central figure at the Tower Circus there.
