The pick of this afternoon's finals should be the women's 400m, where the Olympic Champion and world record holder is MARITA KOCH of the GDR, who will be trying to add another gold medal to her impressive collection. In the men's long jump, CARL LEWIS of the USA will be making another attempt to break BOB BEAMON 'S long-standing world record, and later competing in the sprint relay final.
Britain's best chance of a medal may rest with WENDY SLY in the women's 3,000m, and the other finals this afternoon are the women's 400m hurdles and discus, and the men's 400m. Today's Finals
