Songs of Praise

on BBC One London

from Furneux Pelham
Footballer Tony Galvin of Tottenham Hotspur is more often to be seen on television on Saturday night during Match of the Day, but tonight he's one of the people who chooses a hymn when Songs of Praise visits the village of Furneux Pelham in the farming county of Hertfordshire. Moira Stuart talks to a mountaineer who narrowly escaped death in the Alps and to a former rugger international who gets more satisfaction out of playing with his handicapped son than he did playing for his country.
Rejoice! the Lord is King (Gopsal); O God our help in ages past (St Anne); He who would valiant be (Monk's Gate); When I survey the wondrous cross (Rockingham); Lord of all hopefulness (Slane); Let us break bread together (Traditional); Immortal, Invisible (St Denio); Good Christian Men Rejoice and Sing (Vulpius)
