Paris at their Feet: The Ascent of the Eiffel Tower - First Stage

on BBC One London

Throughout the day, fifteen television Outside Broadcast cameras (one mounted in a helicopter) focus on the progress of four world-famous climbers in their attempt to scale the 1,000-ft. Tour Eiffel.
Among these men, seen on BBC Television last year conquering the Aiguille du Midi and Snowdon, is Ian McNaught-Davis. Linked by radio microphone to Christopher Brasher (at the base of the Tower), he talks as he climbs.
